Our chianti was very good and reasonable for Manhattan prices. For dessert we had the ricotta cheesecake which was light and moist. For entrees Seared scallops over lentil puree- perfectly seared and excellent Spaghetti with lobster- my friend loved it Branzino-nicely done. I also had an appetizer portion of the homemade spaghetti with lump crab,tomato & capers- sooo good. We like the idea of the stuzzichini and tried a few: Rice “arancini”, black truffle, fontina Parmigiano Reggiano 24 m/o, saba Marinated anchovies, grilled polenta Crispy olives, 3 meats, lemon zest Baccalà croquettes All were delicious. Our server was efficient, not overly friendly, but cordial. Vice Versa has a nice ambiance and a beautiful garden room. Went here after seeing Newsical and we had an early Sunday dinner. Again, these dishes were expertly prepared and presented, and, as Michele so aptly put - "mouth heaven." If you are looking for a different dining experience in midtown, with reasonable prices, great service and terrific food, Vice Versa should be high on your list.
Superb! Michele next had the pumpkin ravioli, I had the casoncelli - ravioli with veal, raisins, pancetta and basil. We each had the eggplant canolli for the prima piatti which was stuffed with a creamy ricotta and served over diced zucchini, carrots and peppers. The service was efficient and professional, and the food was outstanding. Once they were all set up, we were shown a very nice table. We had a chance to look around and enjoy the decor which combined a fall theme with modernistic furniture and Egyptian inspired vases from the Grecco-Roman era gracing niches in the wall. We arrived twenty minutes before they opened, but the person who turned out to be our server opened the door for us and invited us in from the cold. We were in NYC for a medical appointment and decided to have the fixed price two course lunch at Vice Versa.
